As a Consultant and Independent Contractor, I am quite used to working at home remotely and being in my own company, but with the impact of Corona virus things have certainly shifted to a whole other level. A reduced workload, coupled with gyms, studios, restaurants etc. shutting down, this has certainly left many of us, myself included with some more time on our hands. After a day or two immersed in the “bad” news and reeling a bit, I decided to really give thought to how I could make the best use of the extra time and I wanted to share in hopes that maybe it can be useful to others.

In an effort not to just fritter this new found time away. I chose to break my day down into sections so that I can make the most of it. I am not hard and fast that these have to be done at the same time every day, but I am trying ensure I give each of them some attention on a daily basis. Usually when I am crazed with work, I tend to jump around and scramble to get everything done. This situation has allowed me to slow down a bit and be more focused. “A light in the darkness” for many of us I think…

So What's on My Daily Agenda?

Self-healing time which includes yoga/exercise, meditation and walking daily.

I even signed up for a 20 day Yoga Challenge with Sadie's Fit & Fierce Club. These pursuits are a normal part of my routine, but often when I am busy or tired days can pass without engaging. So with an everyday practice, I am looking forward to being super-fit when this is over!

Next is business, being that most of my clients are in the event world things have slowed down ALOT, so I have come up with alternative ways to fill this time and advance my business. Of course, my clients that do need attention will be well taken care of, but I am also brushing up on my skills. This includes taking a social media refresher course and doing some virtual networking. Plus, giving more attention to this new blog for Revolutionary Consulting as well as my Gigs n Grub cooking blog. And last but

definitely not least in this area, I am going to spend some time doing some deep thinking on growing my business and new business ideas.

The other very important block in my day is on creative pursuits and giving extra time to my passion which often takes a back seat to everything else. As my friends and followers know, music is a core part of my life and that is definitely going to get some extra attention. What does that look like? Learning piano and practicing a little every day, adding some more virtual co-writes to my schedule, solo songwriting, there has even been some talk of virtual Open Mics. I also just started posting a "Song a Day" live to my social channels. If you want to have a listen you can follow me on FB and IG, @GailSilvermanakag.

Not only do all these things nourish and make me feel better they keep me from drowning in the abyss of news, and help take me away from negativity, anxiety and fear. So, I recommend to everyone, set some time aside and see how you can use this time to build, create and give attention to all these things you love and/or have been putting off.

I'd love to hear comments and feedback on how other people are using their time and dealing with this new reality. And of course, if one of things on your list is ramping up your marketing strategy and plans, Revolutionary Consulting is here to help. Have no fear this lady knows how to work remotely and make it all happen.

One last thing I wanted to mention I am committed to speaking to someone live and in person every day, not text or email but voice to voice or video. So let's stay in touch and connected, I am available via email, text, phone, virtual conferencing etc., so please reach out for business or just to say hello.

In Light & Gratitude,

G. Gail Silverman
